I came to this shop after hearing good things and was hoping to build a relationship with a reliable mechanic. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t match those expectations. They charged me $45 just to inspect my brakes — which I was told would go toward the repair if I proceeded. But the quote they gave me was nearly $900 for rear pads and rotors plus front pads only on a 2020 Mazda 3. I later got quotes from multiple reputable shops (including one in Highland Park) ranging from $550 to $650 for the same exact job using OEM-quality parts. I respectfully asked if there was any flexibility, but didn’t feel like they were willing to work with me — even after I mentioned I'd done my homework. I walked away feeling like I overpaid just for a quote and wasn’t treated with the kind of fairness or transparency I was hoping for. The staff was polite, and maybe others have had better experiences, but based on pricing alone, I can’t recommend this shop. Be prepared to pay significantly more than market rate — even just to get an estimate.
Hi Edwardo, thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the experience didn’t meet your expectations. Our quote reflected the use of genuine Mazda parts, not aftermarket, which naturally affects the cost. As an ASE-certified shop, we take pride in performing thorough inspections and using quality parts that meet or exceed OEM standards to ensure your vehicle’s safety and long-term performance. The $45 inspection fee covers the time and expertise of our certified technicians and, as explained, is applied toward the repair if done with us. That said, if you feel the inspection wasn’t worthwhile, I’d be happy to return the $45—we want every customer to feel respected and valued. We appreciate you giving us a try and wish you the best with your Mazda. If you have any questions or would like to discuss further, feel free to reach out.
